In the Taroko area of Hualien County, two earthquakes struck on the morning of May 30th at 07:54 and 09:11 respectively, measuring magnitudes 5.1 and 5.3 on the Richter scale. Shortly after, rockfalls occurred on Taiwan Route 14A, with large boulders falling from mid-air, frightening many passersby.
花蓮県太魯閣地域では、5月30日の朝、07:54と09:11にそれぞれマグニチュード5.1と5.3の地震が発生しました。その後、台湾14A号線で岩石の落下があり、大きな岩が空中から直接落ち、多くの通行人を驚かせました。
台14甲線（霧社－大禹嶺），西起南投縣仁愛鄉霧社，東至花蓮縣秀林鄉大禹嶺，長41.733公里。原合歡越道路部分路段，今為中橫霧社支線，亦為台14線舊線（彰化－大禹嶺）。
The Tai-14A Highway (Wushe-Da Yu Ling), starts from Wushe in Ren’ai Township, Nantou County, and extends to Da Yu Ling in Xiulin Township, Hualien County, with a length of 41.733 kilometers. Formerly part of the Heping Trans-Highway, it is now the Wushe Branch of the Central Cross-Island Highway, also known as the Old Route of Tai-14 (Changhua-Da Yu Ling).
台14甲線（霧社－大禹嶺）は、南投県仁愛郷の霧社から始まり、花蓮県秀林郷の大禹嶺まで、全長41.733キロメートルに及びます。かつては合歓越道の一部でしたが、現在は中部横断霧社支線として知られ、台14線（彰化－大禹嶺）の旧道とも呼ばれています。
