First Bilingual Graduation Ceremony | Yuli High School Bids Farewell to Graduates

鳳凰花開，驪歌響起。國立玉里高級中學6月3日舉行113級日、進校畢業典禮。有別以往熾熱的陽光，在濛濛細細雨下更顯依依離情。因應雙語學習，玉里高中此次首度以「中、英」雙語方式進行畢業典禮，邁出國際教育一大步！

Phoenix flowers bloom, and the farewell song resounds. On June 3, National Yuli Senior High School held the graduation ceremony for the 113th class, both day and evening divisions. Unlike the usual scorching sunshine, the light drizzle added a touch of melancholy to the farewell atmosphere. In line with bilingual education, Yuli High School conducted this year’s graduation ceremony in both Chinese and English for the first time, marking a significant step forward in international education!

活動開始前，首先由校長鄭志明率領家長會長邱紹崑、學務主任林品棋、玉里高中教育基金會董事長黃耀賢賢伉儷入場，緊隨其後的是11位畢業班導師與今日主角—日校99名、進校9名畢業生，在眾人歡呼聲踏上紅毯邁入活動禮堂。

Before the commencement of the event, Principal Cheng Chih-Ming led the way, accompanied by PTA President Chiu Shao-Kun, Dean of Student Affairs Lin Pin-Chi, and Yuli High School Education Foundation Chairman Huang Yao-Hsien and his wife. They were followed by 11 graduating class advisors and today’s main stars—99 day school graduates and 9 evening school graduates, who walked down the red carpet into the auditorium amidst cheers from the crowd.

現場眾賓雲集，花蓮縣南區服務中心主任陳志源、立法委員傅崐萁辦公室主任潘俊霖、卓溪鄉公所林萬金秘書，以及各級學校機關、各界代表等貴賓，共同為即將踏出校園的學子獻上祝福，勉勵莘莘學子勤奮努力，勇往直前，把握每次從錯誤中學習的機會，累積正面能量，獲致最後的成功！同時也感謝學校用心培育南區學子，不因距離減少教學效能！

A gathering of distinguished guests took place, including Chen Chih-Yuan, Director of the Hualien County Southern Service Center, Pan Chun-Lin, Office Director for Legislator Fu Kun-Chi, Secretary Lin Wan-Chin of Zhuoxi Township Office, and representatives from various schools and institutions. They came together to offer blessings to the graduates about to step out into the world, encouraging them to be diligent and courageous, to seize every opportunity to learn from mistakes, and to accumulate positive energy to achieve ultimate success. They also expressed gratitude to the school for its dedicated efforts in nurturing the students of the southern region, ensuring that teaching effectiveness is not diminished by distance.

窗外濛濛細雨，師生們離情依依，活動中藉由影片回顧各班三年高中燦爛、豐富的生活，拂現過往歡樂與淚水交織的日子，留下深刻永恆的記憶。在學務處的特別巧思下，安排「鼓勵與傳承」—畢業生與在校生交換禮物環節，本屆畢業生於各項成績表現優異，在學弟妹們眼裡是學習的典範，因此致贈「棒棒糖」予畢業生「你們真的好棒！」；而畢業生期勉學弟妹勤勉學習，尊重師長、孝順父母、友愛同學，由本屆畢業生代表湯尚諺、邱嘉恩同學回贈「乖乖桶」給學弟妹，好不溫馨的時刻！

Outside, the fine drizzle created a nostalgic atmosphere as teachers and students bid their farewells. During the event, a video review of the vibrant and enriching high school life of each class over the past three years was shown, bringing back memories of both joy and tears, leaving a lasting and profound impression. Thanks to the thoughtful planning of the Student Affairs Office, a “Encouragement and Legacy” gift exchange between graduates and current students was arranged. This year’s graduates, who have excelled in various fields, are viewed as role models by the younger students. To honor them, the younger students presented lollipops, symbolizing “You are truly amazing!” In return, the graduates encouraged the underclassmen to study diligently, respect teachers, honor their parents, and cherish their peers. Representing this year’s graduates, students Tang Shang Proverb and Qiu Jia-En gave back “Guaiguai” snacks to the underclassmen, creating a heartwarming moment.

本屆畢業典禮特別增設「原住民文化推廣卓越獎」；玉里高中為原住民重點學校，從校內課程到校外活動，學校推動不遺餘力，同學們的主動參與更是教育者樂見的！本獎項針對積極投入原住民歌謠傳唱隊、原住民舞蹈隊之學生予以鼓勵。玉里高中對於兩支隊伍的培訓可說是無所不用其極，今年舞蹈隊代表花蓮縣參加全國學生舞蹈比賽現代舞Ｂ組榮獲甲等，歌謠隊連兩年代表花蓮縣參加全國師生鄉土歌謠比賽皆榮獲優等！

This year’s graduation ceremony features a newly established “Excellence in Indigenous Culture Promotion Award.” Yuli High School, as a key school for indigenous education, has made tireless efforts to promote indigenous culture through both its curriculum and extracurricular activities, with students’ active participation being especially gratifying for educators. This award aims to encourage students who are actively involved in the indigenous song troupe and indigenous dance troupe. Yuli High School spares no effort in training these two groups. This year, the dance troupe represented Hualien County in the National Student Dance Competition (Modern Dance Group B) and won first place, while the song troupe has won the top prize in the National Teachers and Students’ Folk Song Competition representing Hualien County for two consecutive years!

玉里高中校長鄭志明期勉畢業生，在即將踏上新的旅程之際，希望大家能夠保持著學習的熱情和勇氣，勇敢地面對未來的挑戰，並且堅信自己的能力。不要害怕失敗，因為失敗是成功的一部分；不要放棄追求夢想，因為夢想是前進的動力。相信自己的才華和潛能，定能翱翔於人生的巔峰，創造屬於自己的精彩，祝福所有同學鵬程萬里。
