雨後林道，遇見牠的機率大增！
你知道嗎？臺灣有一種神秘卻溫和的小蛇——臺灣鈍頭蛇，是台灣特有種，無毒。

這種小蛇最長約70公分，黃褐色的身體上有不規則的黑色斜紋，頭頸部還有可愛的「W字型」斑紋，眼睛圓圓地特別顯眼。

牠們是行動緩慢、性情溫和、攻擊性低的樹棲性蛇類，活動時間多為夜間，雨後的林道常會出現大量昆蟲和蛙類，也會吸引像臺灣頓頭蛇這樣的蛇類出來覓食。

提醒大家：夜間經過林道時請減速慢行，給野生動物一條安全回家的路，也保護自己免於意外。

如果你在野外幸運看到牠，請用相機紀錄牠的可愛模樣，但別打擾牠喔！

After the rain, your chances of spotting it on a forest trail increase!
Did you know? There’s a mysterious yet gentle little snake in Taiwan — Taiwan chunk-head snake ( Pareas formosensis), a non-venomous and harmless species that is endemic to Taiwan.

This small snake can grow up to around 70 cm in length. Its yellowish-brown body is marked with irregular black slanted stripes, and it has a cute “W-shaped” pattern on its head and neck. With its big, round eyes, it looks especially striking.

Slow-moving, mild-tempered, and non-aggressive, these snakes are arboreal (tree-dwelling) and mostly active at night. After rain, forest trails often come alive with insects and frogs—perfect hunting grounds for the Taiwan slug-eating snake.

Reminder: Please drive slowly when traveling through forest roads at night. This gives wildlife a safe path home and helps protect you from unexpected accidents.
